Position Overview
The Assistant Superintendent will work closely with the Golf Course Superintendent and fellow Assistant Superintendent(s) to help oversee daily golf course maintenance operations. This collaborative structure provides hands-on learning, shared responsibility, and strong mentorship. We are willing to train the right candidate and encourage individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and build a long-term career in golf course management to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in daily planning and execution of golf course maintenance activities
- Work collaboratively with the Superintendent and other Assistant Superintendent(s) to lead and support the maintenance team
- Supervisor and train staff as needed
- Help implement agronomic programs including mowing, irrigation, fertilization, and pesticide applications
- Monitor turf conditions and assist with course setup
- Participate in irrigation system operation and troubleshooting
- Ensure safe work practices and proper equipment use
- Step into leadership roles when senior staff are unavailable
What We Are Looking For
- Passion for golf course management and turfgrass
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Turfgrass degree or certificate preferred but not required
- Prior golf course maintenance experience is a plus, but not mandatory
- Pesticide applicator license or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
